A man from the US state of Virginia bought a 2009 BMW 335i from Facebook Marketplace just to own a manual car, but he ended up regretting his decision.

The buyer is a YouTuber who purchased a manual car because of peer pressure from his friends and viewers.

His choice wasn’t a bad car, but the same couldn’t be said for its condition, though.

He only realized that after the transaction was done and dusted — because the car was riddled with issues.

Man got a cheap BMW 335i because it was a manual

YouTuber Wyatt Webster got this 2009 BMW 335i from Facebook Marketplace, and its only upside was that it ran and was a manual.

Everything else was a mess, to say the least.

In a video he made about the car, he showed his first time driving a manual — and a pretty beat-up one at that.

If anything, it was a hilarious moment as his friends were with him at the time.

The YouTuber stalled four times on his first attempt and ultimately had a friend drive it to his parents’ place right after buying it.

Most Americans drive an automatic while the rest of the world drives a manual.

So, it made sense he had never driven a manual before.

In fact, some automatic drivers were even baffled after seeing how a manual ‘stick-shift’ works.

As for this BMW 335i, it had a rough exterior and was missing a door handle on the driver’s side.

The interior was in decent shape, though — and Wyatt noticed the 200,000-plus mileage as soon as he got in the driver’s seat.

All the real problems, however, lay under the hood.

The engine randomly misfired, and its battery had to be jump-started more than once.

On top of that, the e-brake was non-functional.

He knew what he got, but then again, he just wanted a manual.

There might be some method to this madness, as manual cars could soon be extinct, and even a BMW executive believes that the era of manual gearboxes is coming to an end.

Wyatt’s family was also pretty dissatisfied with his purchase and didn’t even want the car to be parked on their driveway.

He said he would get a garage for it, but we’re not sure if he planned to keep it for long.

After all, his friend put a dent in the BMW’s rear just as the video ended.
