A woman said she feels ‘blessed’ after winning a 1964 Chevy Impala from her late mother’s favorite pizza place.

Rosati‘s Pizza launched a nationwide competition to mark its 60th anniversary.

As the company launched in 1964, it decided to offer one lucky winner a 1964 Chevrolet Impala.

The top prize went to Angela Laymeyer, from Machesney Park in Illinois, who couldn’t quite believe her luck.

Rosati’s Pizza, which has restaurants throughout the US, sourced the car from a classic car dealer.

“We‘ve got dozens of family members in the business, and what do you do with pizza? You deliver it. We‘ve been delivering since 1964, so we’re thinking, this was probably a car that was delivering pizzas in 1964,” Rosati said.

The stunning red Chevrolet Impala came with its original engine.

It was dropped off to Laymeyer by Rosati‘s Pizza CEO Jeff Rosati on November 12, which happened to be exactly 11 months since her mother had passed away.

Laymeyer became emotional as she was handed the car and revealed that Rosati’s had been her late mother’s very favorite restaurant.

“It is very sentimental, I lost my mom 11 months ago to the day and Rosati‘s was absolutely her favorite restaurant,” Laymeyer told WIFR.

“I am just, I’m thankful. Thankful and blessed and what a very good start to the Thanksgiving holiday.”

This isn’t the first time we’ve been hit in the feels by a story involving a vintage car.

Remember the 85-year-old who tracked down his old 1967 Chevrolet Camaro after 40 years?

Or the dad who was surprised by his beloved Impala after being forced to sell it to make ends meet?

All of which show that cars are a lot more than just four wheels and an engine.
