Bugatti Bolide is not a car just famed for its looks — what’s beneath that body is what makes it a true racecar at heart.

In fact, the term ‘Bolide’ comes from the French word ‘le bolide‘, which literally means ‘The racing car.’

First revealed in October 2020, the car was engineered and designed to keep it as light and fast as possible.

With only 40 units to be ever built, this new beast from Bugatti is only for those who cherish the thrills of speed.

Bugatti Bolide is a true racecar

What’s under the skin of Bugatti Bolide will make you go wow! It’s as if you are looking at an F1 racing car.

The Bolide might be one of the most stunning cars even without its shell, but with it on, it’s unmatched.

And let us tell you, the car is not just all about looks — what you see under the shell is an all-new carbon monocoque.

FIA safety standards are no joke, and this car passed the tests effortlessly with this new material.

So this sleek racecar is as secure as it’s fast.

The engine of the Bugatti Bolide is a massive 8.0-liter quad-turbo W16, the same as the Chiron Super Sport.

The supercar also produces an incredible 1,578 horsepower and 1,180 lb-ft of torque, bringing its top speed to 236mph (380 km/h).

This is fast, like really fast, but it can’t beat the Bugatti Chiron Super Sport 300+, which has a top speed of 304.7mph (490.4 km/h).

The transmission is a seven-speed dual-clutch gearbox.

But there’s no automatic mode – so you’ll have to use the paddles to shift gears.

Talking about aerodynamics, the Bugatti Bolide supercar is also engineered to take full advantage of its frame.

The car generates almost three tons of downforce to keep it glued to the road, making it incredibly stable even at high speeds.

Achieving all this while keeping the car at just 1450kgs is really something to acknowledge.

But then, it’s not like Bugatti has done something incredible for the first time.

After testing the car, the famous racing driver, Andy Wallace was simply impressed with Bolide’s performance.

He said, “The feeling when you come out of a corner, press the throttle, and experience that relentless surge of power is incomparable.”

Now, the car’s braking system is also not worth overlooking — it’s pure race tech.

Brembo’s carbon brakes are made to handle tough laps without losing strength.

The eight-piston calipers also hold large 390mm discs, with a five-stage ABS system for better control.

Everything inside Bugatti Bolide is a work of art, making it a true racecar.
