A Bugatti owner in the US has already taken a Bugatti Bolide around the Circuit of the Americas racetrack in Texas.

The Bolide was designed as a track-only hypercar, so its impressive lap times shouldn’t surprise us.

But it is a bit surprising to see a rare, ultra-expensive car being used in the real world.

Ordinarily, owners of cars like this tend to park them in a vault and never use them.

It has become a bit of a meme over the last few years, with extremely rare hypercars being sold on after years with like three miles on the clock.

The fact that a Bugatti owner actually used their car for what it’s for is somehow unusual.

The Bugatti owner rented out the Circuit of the Americas racetrack in Texas for an entire day to test the car.

The Bolide took on the 3.41-mile, 20-turn circuit, completing 12 hot laps and reaching a top speed of 207mph, outpacing the 2024 F1 sprint qualifying speeds.

Side note, the result made a lot of people wonder why McLaren and even Cadillac are in F1, but Bugatti isn’t.

Also, on another side note, the identity of the owner hasn’t been disclosed.

Some car fans immediately assumed it was Manny Khoshbin, one of the first US customers to take delivery of a Bugatti Bolide which – in his case – was customized with what he calls ‘Batman-spec’.

But there’s no evidence to that, so the identity of this Bugatti owner will remain (for now) unknown.

About the Bugatti Bolide

The Bolide initially came out as a concept car in 2020, and the goal was to make it Bugatti’s most powerful car ever.

Powered by Bugatti’s signature W16 engine, the Bolide puts out 1,825HP, giving it a top speed of 236mph.

Bugatti

Bugatti made it clear that the Bolide isn’t a hypercar focused on speed, but rather on handling and braking, which explains the massive carbon-carbon brakes it’s fitted with.

Only 40 units were built, so it definitely has that rarity factor as well.

If you can afford to buy one – and were lucky enough to get the chance – you can probably afford to rent out a top track to test it.
