The Chevrolet Chevelle SS is, we can all agree, an iconic muscle car.

First making its debut in 1964, the Chevelle became a high-water mark of muscle car culture.

In recent days, though, a very ill man in Georgia had his Chevelle stolen from an auto shop.

But a mysterious phone call miraculously led to its return.

What’s the story behind this Chevelle SS?

Natasha Eckles is a woman who lives in Clayton County, Georgia.

A number of years ago, her elderly father gifted her his 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS.

Her goal was always to get it fixed up so that she could take her father out for one last ride in his beloved car.

To that end, she took it to a local auto repair shop in Clayton County.

She went to the shop in order to get some basic work done on the very well-maintained car.

Knowing the value and importance of the car, Natasha clearly asked the owner not to leave the car outside.

Yes, you can probably see where this situation is going already…

The auto shop owner did, in fact, leave the iconic muscle car outside the shop overnight.

And, the next morning, it was missing – because it had been stolen.

Naturally, Natasha was devastated, so she went straight to the local news to plead for the car’s return.

She took to the airwaves to explain the story behind the car – specifically, her wish for her father to get one last ride.

Thankfully, this story has recently come to its conclusion – with a very happy ending.

Natasha received an anonymous phone call telling her where her father’s iconic Chevelle SS could be found.

While she’d offered a $5,000 reward for information, the caller refused to take even a dime.

Instead, they insisted on simply wanting her and her father to be reunited with the car.

Was this potentially a thief showing remorse for their actions?

We can’t say we’re sure, but we’re very happy that Natasha and her father have their beloved car back.
