This Californian YouTuber says owning the Porsche GT3 RS has been a dream, but now it’s experiencing major issues and it needs a total overhaul.

YouTuber and total gearhead Vin Anatra said the GT3 RS was undoubtedly one of the most sought-after and valuable modern Porsches.

Unfortunately, he said the one he owned wasn’t quite as valuable as the rest of them.

Why? Well, because it had more than $100,000 in aftermarket mods and they were proving problematic.

Because the Porsche GT3 RS was his dream car, Vin said he overlooked the fact this particular vehicle had a bunch of mods when he bought it.

In fact, he said it was the only reason he was able to afford the car.

“More mods equal more cheap? In the collector car world, it actually does,” he said.

Instead of stripping the RS of all its mods and trying to get it back to its original state, he decided to have some fun with it and add even more.

Since he’s owned the GT3, he’s had 10 different exhaust setups alone.

“Unlike a fine wine, modifications do not age well, and I am starting to have some problems,” he said.

Vin said he’s been trying to pinpoint the exact issue, but he’s still in the dark.

So he decided to take it to the experts to try to solve his problems for good.

The experts determined that the limited slip differential was weak, and the suspension was old and worn (among other issues).

So, Vin had the differential rebuilt and installed, and replaced the suspension.

He said this made a huge difference to the running of the car, but he still wasn’t satisfied.

If he was going to get the car in good running condition again, he wanted to spend a bit more money to make it easier on the eye.

Vin ultimately did a total overhaul, giving the GT3 PPF (Paint Protection Film), a new livery, carbon fiber side mirrors, and new wheels.

All that, together with new dampers and a front axle lift, he was pretty stoked with the final result.

“This is my absolute dream car, I never thought I’d be able to afford it,” he said.

“And to be able to modify it and drive it is honestly unbelievable.”

Even though mods might make a car like this worth less, Vin’s not the only one to give his car a bunch of modifications and be stoked with the end result.

This guy bought an ‘unsalvageable’ BMW 340i wreck and turned it into a ‘super slayer’ through simple modifications and this guy even managed to modify his Cybertruck so it was road legal in Europe.

You can check out all the epic work he did to the GT3 in the video below:
