Now that you can’t buy a Jaguar for a while, this supercharged restomod called the TWR Supercat is the perfect replacement to take on the reins for any fan of the ‘fast cat.’
It’s not a Jag replacement per se — but it is based on one.
The Supercat builds upon the ever-iconic Jaguar XJS and brings all the goodies of modern performance while retaining its striking design.
Although the XJS is now an aged car by today’s standards, the TWR Supercat breathes fresh life into the classic.

Not just a modified Jaguar XJS
Jaguar is moving away from everything it stood for without spilling the beans to prepare for an ‘electric era.’
That transition means you cannot buy a new Jag until the new EVs land on the market.
What you can do, however, is buy a new ‘old’ Jaguar.
Designed by the engineering company TWR, the Supercat is a V12-powered grand tourer.
It mixes the old-school race of the XJS with state-of-the-art performance that essentially translates to a massive 660 horsepower beast.
The TWR Supercat initially came about as a design render earlier this year, but it’s now ready for production.
Only 88 units will leave the UK factory — all of which will be hand-built.
Although that gives it some exclusivity, it also means quite a few fans will be left empty-handed.
So, what does it have to offer?

Before we get to the horses, its most peculiar detail is perhaps the design.
The body is all carbon fiber, making some headroom for the added weight of the upgraded powertrain.
Designed by Khyzyl Saleem, the exterior makes sure to include aerodynamic improvements and reimagined details while keeping the original shape intact.
Inside, the TWR Supercat got rid of the four-seater layout from the Jaguar XJS and is now strictly a two-seater.
It also features some electrification inside with added screens — which might not be to everyone’s liking.
As for the power department, you will find a 6.5-liter supercharged V12 powerhouse that produces 660 horsepower and 538lb-ft of torque.
That power is sent via a six-speed manual transmission with launch control.
If anything, it’s certainly one of the best restomods we’ve ever seen.
