We all know celebrities love to snap up supercars now and again and if we had the money, we sure would too.

In fact, UK Radio DJ Chris Evans cannot stop spending all his money on cars, so much so that you could call him a Ferrari addict.

Plus, Scott Disick has a 20-car collection, but there are six standout eye-watering customized cars worth $3 million – talk about splashing the cash.

But, this celebrity’s need for speed was only utilized in recent years.

Yes, that’s right -Segura learned to drive stick shift in his late 30s.

For many teens across the country, as soon as they’re able to, they can’t wait to behind the wheel.

They take lessons and undergo tests to make sure they can drive a stick safely on open roads.

‘I didn’t know how to drive a manual until my late 30s,’ admitted Tom.

He revealed the news on the KFC Radio YouTube channel.

“I found a guy on Yelp who was like I’ll teach you how to drive manual,’ he continued.

The driving force behind his urge to learn was a BMW

You see, the comedian had actually purchased a BMW M2 but wasn’t able to actually make use of it – and let’s face it, being a passenger princess can get boring sometimes.

He explained how he experienced ‘stalling at stoplights’ and other learner driver faux-pas were part and parcel of the process too.

And, thanks to his new-found stick-shifting obsession, he’s ordered even more of the autos.

We just bet he’s grateful that he wasn’t in the UK. Otherwise his flashy auto would have been plastered with bright red L plates – that doesn’t exactly scream glamour, does it?

What features does the BMW M2 have?

The new M2 certainly is a force to be reckoned with.

BMW itself states that it comes with ‘classic rear-wheel drive, fleet-footed agility on demand and handling that remains easily controllable even as the driver explores the coupé’s limits’.

So it’s no wonder that Segura fancied trying his hand behind the wheel. Because it’s well worth learning to drive stick for.

Plus, it is a beautiful car – you have to admit.

Take a look at what else Tom Segura told the KFC Radio guys about his need for speed below.
