Porche currently has two sweethearts: The Taycan EV Turbo S, and its gas counterpart the darling 911 Turbo S.

But which is the better car?

Well, the Porsche twins have now been put to the test in a cross-country trip through New Zealand.

Now, we finally have an answer.

Porsche Taycan EV vs 911 Turbo S

While the Porsche 911 has been around years and comes with a remarkable reputation, the Taycan EV is the relatively new kid on the block.

But its already making waves on the biggest of stages.

The YouTube presenter at 9 and 3 has been cruising around the country in both Porsche cars, with help from a friend.

The car fanatic swapped out of the 911 Turbo S that he owned and jumped into the Taycan EV, and dove straight into his ciritique.

While both or the Porsche darlings are rather similar in aesthetics, their respective drives are quite different. The Taycan isn’t just an electric replica.

The obvious difference between both cars is the weight, as the Taycan EV comes in much heavier thans to its batteries.

However, the driver claims that this isn’t a flaw, and instead praises the car for the way it handles, especially with more power.

In fact, with its four-wheel steering, the car handles slightly better than the 911, according to this driver.

This test used the 2024 Taycan EV too, not the newly-released 2025 version which puts those batteries to much better effect.

The 911 Turbo S did come out on top in other areas though, albeit mainly because of a Taycan mishap.

The electric vehicle, given its funk and chunk, does have a smaller range than what you would usually care for in an EV. Despite it still being good for most long-distance trips, the Porsche does drink electricity like its going out of fashion.

Still, the driver claimed that the Taycan is “probably the best EV car that you can buy” and says its significantly upgraded interior tips it over the edge when compared to the 911.

While this driver claims that the Taycan EV is the better car to drive, others haven’t had as much joy owning the vehicle though, with shocking sevice prices leaving a sour taste.
