This guy is building a Jaguar XJ220, a rare supercar from the 1990s, starting from scratch.
The whole vehicle is a DIY project, from start to finish, and everything is hand-made.
He’s building the chassis and the bodywork, plus, he wants to use a V12 engine.
This is probably the most ambitious self-build project we’ve ever heard of.

The first DIY Jaguar XJ220 in the world
The Jaguar XJ220 is a rare, limited-edition supercar built in the 1990s.
Between 1992 and 1994, Jaguar built 282 examples, most of which are still in existence.
The problem is that buying one is impossible – unless you’re very wealthy.
Most people would go looking for something else, but not this YouTuber.
Instead, as one of the guys from the Apex Performance Garage YouTube channel they decided to build it themselves.
The chassis is aluminium, and the bodywork is 100 percent adherent to the original.
They also plan to put an actual Jaguar V12 in it.
For reference, the XJ220 original concept had a 6.2-liter unit, but the production version actually used a 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6.
Based on the latest video they shared, it’s clear that they’re making good – and fast – progress, so stay tuned for the finished product.
About the XJ220
The XJ220 surprised everyone because no one was expecting a car like this from Jaguar.
Unveiled in 1988, the model went into production a few years later.
Only 282 were built, and most are still in good shape today.
There are of course some exceptions, such as the example was discovered in a barn or the one that was found, abandoned in Beirut.
Unfortunately, Jaguar never built a ‘sequel’.
The C-X75, one of the most incredible concepts ever created, was supposed to replace the XJ220 as its spiritual successor decades later but the timing was pretty bad.
The car’s launch coincided almost exactly with the financial crisis of the late 2000s, and so Jaguar just gave up on the idea altogether.
