The car is in good shape, apart from something that some insurance companies would call ‘structural damage’.

In reality, it was an easy fix, it only cost him about $50.

Not a bad deal for a dream car.

Why fixing his dream car was so cheap

Edwin Klinkenberg Evans, one of two people who run the Top Dead Center YouTube channel, explained how he ended up finding this car.

The car in question is a Honda Beat, a tiny convertible sports car that’s also a kei car, i.e., the smallest passenger car available.

It has three cylinders, 63 horsepower, and it was cheap because it had what insurance companies would refer to as structural damage.

In reality, the structural damage was just a slightly bent rear section, which got back it into place when Edwin pulled it back a bit using nothing but his arms and body weight.

The paint was a bit chipped, and it needed new taillights but, other than that, the car was pretty much fine.

In the end, he ended up fixing it for about $50.

What is a kei car

Unlike small toy-esque vehicles such as the Peel P50 or the Microlino City Car, a Japanese Kei car is a real car, not just a toy.

Several different models are available, mostly made by Japanese automakers, and you can also find kei trucks.

Designed specifically for the cramped, busy and narrow streets of Japanese cities, kei cars are designed as a downsized version of a normal car.

For a very long time, you could only buy these cars in Japan, but they’re becoming quite popular in other regions as well.
