This rare $1.7 million Aston Martin One-77 has clocked up more than 40,000km – and ended up requiring some seriously pricey repairs.

Aston Martin created just 77 One-77 vehicles, however, this one is a little bit special.

It began life as a prototype before it was transformed into a road-legal vehicle.

Now, it’s the highest mileage Aston Martin One-77 in the world and all those miles meant that it has had to have some expensive repairs.

The One-77 is a powerful car, fitted with a 7.3 liter V12 that kicks out a whopping 750 horsepower and 553 pound-feet of torque.

At the time, it was the most powerful Aston Martin ever made.

High Mileage Reviews

This Aston Martin One-77 was the eleventh prototype and was given the chassis number 10711.

The team from High Mileage Reviews YouTube channel was recently given the chance to get up close to the super-rare car and shared its unusual history.

After it was made, the supercar prototype was put through its paces during rigorous endurance testing at the Nardo test track in Italy, and took part in test laps at Nürburgring, Le Mans and more.

The prototype was also taken around the US on tours, popping up at Monterey Car Week and various dealerships.

Years on, the Aston Martin One-77 was turned from prototype to road-legal vehicle and underwent a seven-month long restoration, including fresh interiors and new paintwork as well as a new clutch, oil tank, and exhaust.

This meant that there were now 78 Aston Martin One-77s in the world, with the now-road-going former prototype registered with its new owner in the US.

High Mileage Reviews

As well as being a rarity due to its unusual history, the One-77 is also the highest mileage example in the world with 40,840km on the clock.

And all those miles took their toll on the Aston Martin – and shortly after it was sold by its original owner, the One-77 ended up with a leak in the air conditioning system.

Such a repair can be costly on even a standard car, but for one as expensive and rare as this it was nothing short of staggering.

To have the vehicle fixed, the new owner had to part with a whopping $45,000. Ouch.

Unfortunately, those costly repairs didn’t end there, either – it also has a broken windshield wiper, that will cost $10,000 to fix, and an issue with the side mirror motors. Double ouch.
