A man restored an old abandoned mechanic shop into a light and bright workspace – and it’s so satisfying to watch.
The auto shop in question had previously been used as an old tire shop but had long since been ‘abandoned’.
It was discovered by Caleb from the Gingium YouTube channel, who had spent months looking for the ideal premises before he stumbled across it.
He was quick to admit that the space had ‘seen better days’, but was happy to take on the renovation.

The mechanic shop was in a bad way
We’ve seen plenty of satisfying detailing and clean-up jobs on cars, such as this 1992 Acura NSX that was given its first wash in 22 years; or this poor old Dodge Challenger that went 40 years without ever being cleaned.
But it’s a little more unusual to see a restoration and renovation of a mechanic’s workshop, like we do here.
Much like many of the car cleaning clips, the shop was in a sorry state to begin with.
“It was extremely dirty, disorganized, dark, and overall just nasty,” Caleb explained in the clip.
But he wasn’t about to let that stand in the way of creating his ideal workspace.
So, he enlisted the help of some pals and got to work – kicking off with a very thorough jet washing to tackle the worst of the filth, dirt, and grime.
The space had a complete overhaul
This was followed by a deep clean of the floors – that is actually kind of memorizing to watch – and a layer of epoxy was put down.
The whole space was then given a fresh lick of white paint before they added some new lights to really brighten the place up.
Next, furniture was assembled and put into place and the shop really began to take shape.
The final stage was bringing in all the tools required to run a busy mechanic shop and putting them neatly away.
The whole thing took around a month – but you can see it happen in just eight minutes in the clip above.
The before and after shots are nothing short of magical.
Who knew watching someone clean up an old tire shop could be so satisfying?
