Under the hood won’t be entirely faithful to the OG vehicle, with the engine originally from the 812 Superfast.

In fact, the car enthusiast flew his team all the way to Munich to source the Ferrari F140-GA V12 engine.

It packs a serious punch.

Mike Burroughs of the StanceWorks team is building a Ferrari F40 almost from scratch.

The project is reimagining the F40 with modern performance while retaining its essence – he had to sell multiple cars to afford it.

In fact, the aim is to more than double its original power providing a unique driving experience.

This 800HP and 530lb-ft of torque comes via an engine originally from the 812 Superfast that has been seen going over 200mph on the public German autobahn, famed for its no-speed-limit rule.

On the flip side, it’s significantly lighter (447 pounds) than the F40’s original twin-turbo V8, offering a far better power-to-weight ratio.

The highly coveted 1987 Ferrari F40 was the last car to receive approval from Enzo Ferrari.

Other plans to support this extra oomph include a custom Holinger sequential manual transmission with straight-cut gears replacing the original gearbox, offering precise shifts and a race-inspired feel.

Custom 6-in-1 headers optimize exhaust flow and enhance the V12’s sound and performance.

The complex high-pressure direct injection system of the F140 has been replaced with a simpler port injection for easier tuning and compatibility with E85 fuel.

With all these switched-up mechanics, enhancements were made to the body and chassis to handle the increased power and maintain balance and stability.

When it’s finished, this is going to be one hell of a built.
