Why this Ferrari F430 is uniqueThe story behind ‘Giallo Modena’

When people think about the world’s most famous supercar company, they always think of Rosso Corsa, the world’s most famous shade of red.

But it wasn’t always that way, and the original idea was to make the cars yellow, just like this one.

This one – a 2008 model – is currently available from SBX Cars.

Why this Ferrari F430 is unique

This Ferrari F430 Spider was bought new in 2008 and the owner has (thankfully) actually driven it.

This shouldn’t be unusual but it is.

We’re so used to supercar owners storing their vehicles in air-conditioned garages for years before selling them on.

This one has done 67,669 (42,047 miles), which is pretty significant for a car of this kind.

Powered by a 4.3-liter V8 with 483 horsepower, this car is finished in Giallo Modena, an iconic shade of yellow, with black leather interior.

It is currently available from SBX Cars, and the auction is set to end on February 25.

The story behind ‘Giallo Modena’

There are several theories and stories around the company’s main color, which everyone knows is Rosso Corsa.

But things used to be different.

Ferrari had initially chosen yellow, not red, as a tribute to coat of arms of the city of Modena, where Ferrari’s headquarters were located.

In the years that followed, international motorsports competitions began adopting different colors for each nation.

Italy was using red, and Ferrari’s color became red.

Giallo Modena is still an important part of the brand’s history, though.

It’s the color that adorns the iconic Prancing Horse emblem, and even though Giallo Modena is nowhere the top on the list of best-selling paint options, it’s one of those hues that will always be there.
