Chevrolet and General Motors have always prided themselves on being high-quality manufacturers with well-made cars.

More often than not, it’s Chevy trucks and EVs that exemplify this.

But the ethos rings true in supercars too, as it’s been found that the Chevrolet Corvette Z06 (C8) is one of the cheapest supercars on the planet when it comes to maintenance.

Chevrolet Corvette Z06 clocks in super-cheap maintenance

While some supercars cost outrageous fees to stay in tip-top shape, like a Bugatti, which costs $25k just to change oil once a year, Chevrolet has made its supercars incredibly easy to stay on top of.

Although the Corvette Z06 has a groundbreaking engine that took two years to craft, the Chevy supercar has maintenance fees on par with high-end road cars, like a Tesla.

Having been out for five years now, studies have found that its owners have clocked up an average spend of $3,272 on maintenance over that half-decade.

Data from CarEdge suggests that the next five years might see the Corvette’s fees increase slightly, but it remains one of the cheapest supercars out there.

Why? Well, aside from the custom engine, most of the Corvette Z06 uses GM’s wide range of parts, which are never in short supply.

With affordable replacements in every component, if these Chevrolet supercar owners need a new filter or even a replacement bulb, they are incredibly easy and cheap to buy.

The cheapest supercars to maintain

Chevrolet’s supercar game has gone from strength to strength this year, with the release of the record-breaking Corvette ZR1 and the announcement of its hypercar follow-up, the ZR1X.

But these supercars won’t be cheaper to keep pristine, given the newer parts.

If the Z06’s maintenance costs are still too high for your liking, the Acura NSX is touted as the cheapest. The Honda-produced vehicle averages just $354 a year, according to RepairPal.

Other big-brand names clock in higher, but still cheap, results, especially the Germany-hailing BMW i8, Audi R8, and Mercedes-Benz AMG GT.

The only other rival car with similar fees is the Dodge Viper, which is estimated to cost around $450 a year to maintain, averaging around $2,250 over five years.

American manufacturing is still winning.
