Yes, you read that right – an actual Rolls-Royce has been left abandonded.

It recently surfaced online, having been found in Pune, India.

But there is a very good reason why it has been left to face the elements.

Rolls-Royce Ghost embodied four-wheeled luxury

Rolls-Royce is the four-wheeled embodiment of luxury.

The luxury British marque has always produced the most elegant cars on the roads.

And of its most recent examples was that of the Rolls-Royce Ghost Series II.

First unveiled in 2014, the Ghost Series II served as the updated version of the extremely successful Ghost.

Re-sculpted headlights were a core feature of the updated Ghost.

The car became even more sleekly designed and developed, with big upgrades on the interior.

The Ghost Series II was produced for six years from 2014 to 2020.

And it is the Rolls-Royce Ghost Series II that stars in today’s story.

Luxury Ghost left abandoned in India

A video has been going viral online from the Instagram page Pune Automotives.

The page, based in Pune, India, is dedicated to showcasing luxury cars in the region.

It recently stumbled across a decrepit, abandoned Rolls-Royce Ghost Series II.

But it is abandoned for a very good – and controversial – reason.

This Ghost Series II is worth around 50 million Indian Rupees ($500,000).

The rear windscreen is found completely smashed, with leaves from nearby trees finding a home on the luxury leather interior.

Similarly, the entire front end has been crashed and ruined, whilst the front windscreen is extremely dirty.

However, as promised, this $500,000 car is not abandoned without good reason.

It finds itself abandoned, in fact, because it was owned by a Pune local accused of a host of crimes.

This Rolls-Royce Ghost Series II belonged to a notorious figure named Nanasaheb Gaikwad.

Gaikwad is currently under arrest by the region’s authorities and is facing some serious criminal charges.

Gaikwad and his son, Ganesh, are currently being held under under the Maharashtra Control of Organized Crime Act (MCOCA).

Sadly, this Rolls-Royce Ghost Series II is a victim of that, and it isn’t alone.

Authorities also seized an Audi TT Coupe, a Mini Cooper, a Mercedes S-Class and several others.

Those cars were seized over four years ago, with charges and prosecutions reportedly still ongoing.

This could be the end of the road for that car collection, and sadly for this roadside Rolls-Royce as well.
