The semi truck has been an icon of the roads in America for several decades.

Images of highways and cross-country journeys are synonymous with these vehicles.

A semi truck recently sold for over $13 million in Saudi Arabia.

And it’s the most powerful semi truck ever put together.

By now, you have probably heard of the promotional phenomenon known as ‘Riyadh Season’.

As part of an effort to promote tourism in Saudi Arabia, the government has introduced this program.

Combat sports has played a big role in Riyadh Season, with some of boxing’s biggest fights falling under that banner.

And Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia, has also been hosting a 66-day marathon of cultural events.

One of these events, of course, involves displaying the latest and greatest cars in the world.

The Riyadh Motor Show brought together enthusiasts from all over the planet.

And one particular feature of the show caught the eye of everybody in attendance.

But it wasn’t a hypercar, or even a luxurious SUV, it was a semi truck.

This semi truck happened to be a 1984 Peterbilt 359 Ultra Custom TT Crew Cab.

The truck, called THOR 24, is a 3,974HP behemoth – and it is all thanks to one man.

American real estate developer Mike Harrah had a vision for a truck.

And, despite taking seven years to realize that vision, it all ultimately came together.

Mike’s vision involved an unholy union of two 14-liter, V12 Detroit Diesel engines.

This monstrous powertrain produces a combined total of 3,974HP.

It is all held together by a customized independent suspension, a manual gearbox, and power disc brakes.

The stretched Peterbilt chassis is an unbelievable 44ft long and weighs 32,000LBS.

And it gets even crazier from there – because the THOR 24 tops out at 130MPH.

Harrah fitted the truck with 12 superchargers – as well as a nitrous system.

With a nod to safety, Harrah also had four 12-foot parachutes fitted to the back.

The rear of the truck has a massive mural of Thor, the truck’s Norse god namesake.

As mentioned earlier, this truck sold for an unreal $12 million when the hammer went down.

This was boosted to $13.2 million once the buyer’s premium was added.

It all goes to show what you can achieve with a just dream and a truck…
