This is the new Gulfstream G800, a new private jet that’s so good even the people who made it are surprised.
The 800 is the newest addition to the family of Gulfstream G planes, and it’s already airworthy.
It already received the certification it needs from both the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) and the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA).
Now comes the part where people with big bank accounts show up with checks with a lot of zeros on them.

The G800 is faster and has more range than anticipated
The Gulfstream G800 is the newest addition to a family of private jets launched in 2009.
The manufacturer is always trying to make these jets bigger, more comfortable, and more importantly, give them more range, and the mission was once again accomplished.
According to both the FAA and the EASA, the G800 has a range of 9,436 miles (15,186 km), when traveling at a speed of Mach 0.85 (652 mph/1,050 kph).
That’s an increase of 230 miles (370 km) over what the manufacturer expected.
As it turns out, the company also underestimated the plane’s speed.
The company originally planned a maximum speed of Mach 0.925, but the G800 has a top speed of Mach 0.935.
Powered by twin Rolls-Royce Pearl 700 engines, the G800 can carry up to 19 people at a time, but the interior is, of course, customizable.
Prices start at around $70 million.
Celebrities who own Gulfstream jets
The list of celebrities and VIPs who own jets from the Gulfstream family is very long.
Tom Cruise, the man who can seemingly do everything (including fly his own planes), owns a GIV.
Jeff Bezos owns a G700, while Elon Musk and Cristiano Ronaldo both own G650ERs.
Kim Kardashian owns a G650, but not the ER version.
Interestingly, despite being a huge aviation fan, John Travolta doesn’t own one.
Travolta holds eight difference licenses and has been collecting planes since he was 22.
He owns several planes, including a couple of Boeings, but, apparently, no Gulfstream jets.
