A scuba diver decided to explore this hidden treasure, revealing the cars resting at the lake’s bottom.
As expected, the cars were completely ruined after being eaten away by rust.
Although it’s unclear how long these cars have been there, their condition suggests it has been years. After all, what else would we expect from cars submerged in water?

The video revealing this wrecked car graveyard in an Italian lake was filmed back in 2013 and uploaded onto YouTube by Antonio Bertele.
Most of these cars were damaged to the extent that it was almost impossible to recognize their models and makers.
It’s quite a surprise why these classic gems were never rescued.
These cars could have been saved if they had been pulled out in time, and it would have been better for the environment as well.
Interestingly, one car was instantly recognizable – a white Volkswagon Golf MK2.
While this car, too, had been taken over by nature, it still looked in a better state when compared to the others.
Similar to the other models, the last car in the video was almost unidentifiable, however, one viewer was able to spot that it was a MK2 Mini Cooper.
The YouTuber who posted the video later confirmed his guess.

Another speculated about the fate of the cars, stating: “The doors to the cars are open, so the cars were probably stolen for joyrides and then driven into the lake.”

What happened to these cars is a mystery, just like the classic cars found in the Oregon River. However, these gems could have been retrieved – if not for their restoration, then to keep the water clean.
