That’s right, the automaker will launch the next-gen hypercar on October 6.

Honestly, it has been quite the wait for this launch, and hopefully, it won’t disappoint.

What’s more, we can now put a name to the yet-to-be-revealed face — the McLaren W1.

The McLaren P1 successor is arriving soon

We have been hearing all sorts of rumors and speculation about this hypercar since the beginning of this year.

What we knew until now was its alleged cost — which would exceed $2 million — and one more thing.

The British marque partnered with an American hypercar maker, which would reportedly work on the new hypercar’s lightweight parts.

However, the most recent developments include a teaser from the carmaker itself, and it’s an extremely short YouTube video.

Titled ‘What makes a ‘1’ car?’ — the video is McLaren officials talking about an elite (and quite small) club of its flagship supercars.

The club in question obviously includes just the McLaren F1 and P1 until now.

This was a talk to introduce a new member to the club — the W1 — which will carry the previous members’ legacy.

While the teaser didn’t reveal anything concrete, it showed a few frames of F1 driver Lando Norris giggling.

For most enthusiasts, that’s a valid approval, and we’re sure the McLaren P1 successor will pack a punch.

If that doesn’t seem enough, rumors say that the next-gen supercar will feature a hybrid V8 powertrain, which will likely produce no less than 1,200 horsepower.

Although the McLaren P1 was already one of the best supercars of its time, its successor will likely take things up a notch.

The automaker will most probably include several upgrades like 3D-printed parts and airflow optimizations, making the W1 a worthy successor.

Most of these are speculations, but we will know more after the official announcement on October 6.
