The Lotus Emira V6 SE is their last gas-powered sports car and it’s pure eye candy

British carmaker Lotus has revealed its upcoming 2026 Lotus Emira V6 SE, and it’s a real stunner.

Launched in 2022, the Lotus Emira is intended to be the last of its cars powered by an internal combustion engine.

Now, a top-spec V6 SE model has been added to the line-up.

And it’s safe to say, it’s a very special car.

The Lotus Emira V6 SE looks every inch the exotic sports car you’d expect from marque, with a wide stance and beefy, muscular proportions paired with a slick, low-slung cabin.

It has been kitted out with exclusive V6 SE badges and sits on 20-inch forged alloy wheels with red brake calipers.

The all-new Emira V6 SE comes in Zinc Grey as standard, but customers will be able to choose from 15 exterior colors and several interior themes.

Lotus says its new Emira V6 SE is a car designed ‘for the drivers’, mixing striking looks with a ‘thrilling dynamic experience’ and next-level aerodynamics. Sounds good to us.

While the car looks like the sort of vehicle that would be at home on the race track, Lotus says it is also practical and refined, so it’s got a lot more to offer than just speed and power.

But speaking of speed and power, under the hood of the all-new Emira V6 SE you’ll find a supercharged 3.5-litre V6 engine paired with a six-speed manual gearbox that can produce 400 horsepower and 310lb-ft of torque and send it hurtling from 0-62mph (0-100km/h) in just 4.3 seconds.

The 2026 Lotus Emira V6 SE is the newest addition to the Emira line-up, which already includes the Turbo SE.

The Emira was introduced as the last of the carmaker’s fully ICE-powered vehicles, with the brand having said in 2021 that it would be going all-electric in the future.

However, in November last year, it backtracked on those plans and said it would create hybrid versions of its future models.

CEO Feng Qingfeng said the brand was working on a ‘super hybrid’ powertrain, combining fast charging and a turbocharged combustion engine.

“At Lotus, we have always chosen the best power technology available, whether it’s pure gasoline, pure electric, hybrid, or range-extended [EV],” said Feng.

The marque has yet to reveal which models will be kitted out with new hybrid powertrains, but it could be that we see refreshed ‘super hybrid’ versions of the Eletre SUV and Emeya sedan.
