The German manufacturer is one of the world’s best, and it is gearing up for some exciting changes.

A change to electric power and a new ‘intuitive’ user experience are just some of the changes taking place.

The shift to EVs is the most exciting of these, with BMW striving for what it calls ‘sustainable luxury.’

BMW is making a shift to electric

There is a significant shift to electric power taking place at BMW, based on the company’s new Neue Klasse platform.

This is a completely new and bespoke electric vehicle platform that is set to become the foundation for all future electric models.

BMW is aiming for a 50 percent increase in delivery share for EVs, thanks to the Neue Klasse platform.

There is also the extra aim of decreasing its carbon footprint.

The new platform is also described as versatile, able to be used by various different models.

The company teased the profile with several concept vehicles.

These included the i Vision Circular and the Vision Neue Kalsse X.

Digital, interactive, and intuitive user experience

One of the other things that the company is aiming to offer is what it calls a digital, interactive, and intuitive user experience.

This is part of what it says is a ‘new kind of interaction between humans and automobile.’

Essentially, it boils down to a new iDrive infotainment system that also incorporates the new BMW Panoramic Vision.

The new system allows for information to be displayed across the whole width of the car’s windscreen.

The steering wheel has a new multi-function design, and there is, of course, the voice-controlled Intelligent Personal Assistant.

Effectively, the company wants to make the consumer’s experience as intuitive and user-friendly as possible.

Sustainable luxury is another of BMW’s aims

Something else that the manufacturer is striving for is to create sustainable luxury.

Much of this will lie in their new iFactory, that will combine ‘state of the art’ technology and more sustainable methods of production.

That sustainability will also incorporate its electric vehicles, with BMW aiming to be 100 percent electric in a few years.

Everything from the Mini, its X series of luxury SUVs, and cars in its other brands, such as Rolls-Royce, will become fully electric.

The new Neue Klasse platform is a core part of this, and the company says it hopes to be fully electric by the early 2030s.
