The first Bugatti Bolide to arrive in the USA has been put through its paces at the Circuit of the Americas.

Only one of the 40 Bolide hypercars has landed on US soil so far as the extremely exclusive track car has begun to be delivered to customers.

Estimated to be worth $4 million, the Bugatti Bolide has now set its wheels on racing tarmacs around the globe.

Specifically, the only US Bolide has marked itself on the Circuit of the Americas track as one photographer reveals all.

The Bolide is a phenomenon. It has a top speed capped at 311mph, a bespoke monocoque chassis that is usually exclusive to Le Mans racecars.

It boasts 1577hp and 1180 lb-ft of torque, Bugatti’s final 8.0-liter quad-turbo W16 engine, and F1-standard carbon brakes that were two years in the making.

The first of these Hypercars landed in the US last month, being delivered to Team CJ Works in Austin, Texas, where the team has opted for a black and blue paintwork and matching interior.

The owner of the car has not been revealed, although Team CJ Works has claimed it is a possession of a ‘racer’ and that will ‘see plenty of track time’.

Well, just like the Bugatti Bolide itself, the team has wasted no time getting this beauty on the track.

As snapped by photographer Wes Tindel (aka LoneStarExotic on Instagram), the Bugatti has now been driven around the Circuit of the Americas track.

As the home of the Formula One United States Grand Prix, NASCAR Texas Grand Prix, and many other iconic races, it is one of the most world-renowned tracks and will have put the Bolide through its gears.

How quick is the Bolide around the track?

At the moment, there is no official lap time for the Bolide’s run at COTA.

The photographer didn’t share any specifics as to how the car performed, although you can expect that the team looking after the car will be gearing up for a record attempt.

The Bolide is expected to be lightning fast. Already this car has been simulated to be a stunning seven seconds (3:07:10) quicker than the current Circuit de la Sarthe record holder, the Toyota TS050 (3:14:70).

It has also been simulated to lap the Nürburgring in 5:23:1, which comes out just four seconds shy of the current record holder, the Porsche 919 Hybrid Evo.

That is over one minute quicker than any American car ever, as a Ford Mustang GTD recently set that accolade.

We’ll have to wait and see if these simulations can translate to real performance though.

Formula 1 driver Valtteri Bottas is the current Circuit of the Americas record holder, who set a lap at 1:32:03 during the 2019 Austin GP.

If we don’t get an official lap time this year, that will be because the Bolide has taken some time off to join a group of esteemed reindeer bolting a fat red man across the skies.
