The ultimate German luxury car brand has officially produced its 1,000,000th Porsche Macan SUV in Leipzig.
The model has been in production for 11 years, having first been unveiled in 2014.
It has been continuously produced by the German marque in its Leipzig factory
And number 1,000,000 has now officially rolled off the production line.

Porsche celebrates its millionth Macan
Porsche recently celebrated a massive milestone in relation to the Macan.
It recently produced the 1,000,000th unit of the crossover SUV at its Leipzig factory.
This celebration edition is finished in a Frozen Blue Metallic paint job with bi-tone leather.
The second-generation model is powered by an 800-volt battery.
Said battery provides the Macan with 402bhp, as well as a 0-60s time of 5.2 seconds.
It also provides the Macan with 380 miles of range on a full charge.
To celebrate the occasion, the brand handed over the Porsche Macan to its new owner in a special ceremony.
It took place at the brand’s Experience Centre Leipzig – and that was not all.
The man was treated to a driving experience with one of Porsche’s driving experts.
Its Leipzig factory has several test tracks – just one of the perks of buying with the automaker.
Brand’s move to SUV market has been vindicated
Interestingly, the automaker was met with a lot of criticism when it first entered the SUV game.
Its Cayenne was originally met with quite a lot of pushback and criticism.
Ultimately, however, it’s been vindicated in catering to the global SUV market.
The Macan’s introduction further vindicated the brand’s decision to expand its market appeal.
As a matter of fact, the model is frequently among Porsche’s best-selling vehicles.
Both Macan and Cayenne are regularly competing for the top spot on the brand’s sales charts.
Almost 5,000 employees now work at the Leipzig facility.
The German brand made the decision to manufacture the model in Leipzig all the way back in 2011.
And production has remained centred in Leipzig for the entirety of its production to date.
