Someone spotted a Bugatti supercar so rare that they didn’t know what it was, but enthusiasts got very excited about it after they identified it as a Bugatti Bolide.

The supercar was spotted being imported into Melbourne, Australia, with a post appearing on the social media website Reddit.

Users on the forum identified it as a Bolide, one of the rarest cars the French manufacturer has ever made.

The Bolide is worth a huge amount of money, so seeing one in the wild and being able to take a photo of it is a very special occurrence.

Reddit user xlxTurtyxlx posted the image on the whatisthiscar SubReddit, showing the Bolide being unloaded.

They didn’t have any idea what the car was, so they had to ask, and it didn’t take long for enthusiasts to answer.

People pretty quickly confirmed it as a Bolide, one of the best cars Bugatti has ever made.

Yet some hadn’t heard of it, and one user, beavertownneckoil, couldn’t believe how fast the car was.

The Bugatti Bolide packs a punch thanks to the famous Bugatti 8.0-liter quad-turbocharged W16 engine.

This is the same engine used in the Chiron, however, the Bolide sees the performance increase even more.

Thanks to some performance enhancements, the car has 1,578hp and 1,180lb-ft of torque.

No surprise then that its top speed is 311mph, which is also electronically limited.

Bugatti took some inspiration for its design from the LMP1 race cars that used to race at the Le Mans 24 Hours.

Like with many Bugatti cars, the Bolide is also a very limited edition.

In total, Bugatti has made just 40 units of this fearsome hypercar, which is also track-only.

That makes this spot in Melbourne even more remarkable, given the rarity of the car.

Back to the Reddit post, a lot of people were quite surprised at the fact that one had made its way to Australia.

There were a lot of ‘woah’ type comments from users.

Many simply had not heard of the fact that this particular supercar even existed.

Seeing a Bugatti Bolide in the flesh must be a truly incredible experience.

Even more so when you realize they are worth over $4 million.

With only one other Bolide currently in Australia, this is one very special car.
