Shaquille O’Neal admitted his modified Ferrari 360 Modena was probably his worst purchase ever.

And he didn’t just buy one, he bought two.

He bought one as his main car, and then another one to source parts for a specific mod.

For a wild reason, it still didn’t work.

The reason why Shaquille O’Neal believes this was his worst purchase

Shaq has a sizable car collection, even though he can’t fit in most of them.

The NBA legend has been modifying his cars for years, not just out of vanity but because he’s just too tall for most cars.

A while back, he bought a Ferrari 360 Modena and realized he was too tall and his legs were too long to fit in it.

So he bought another one from a scrapyard to source parts for the modification he had in mind.

Gaffoglio Metalworks

Shaq literally cut his Ferrari 360 Modena in half just so he could add extra bodywork in the middle to make the car longer.

That solved the legroom problem, but it didn’t solve the headroom problem.

So Shaq did something even more radical and decided to cut the top off.

That gave him more headroom, and everything went well until it didn’t, because one day, on his way to Fort Lauderdale from Miami, it started raining and the car got flooded.

As he explained during an episode of the BeatBox Averages podcast, his modified Ferrari was by far his worst purchase.

We believe him.

Nearly every car in his collection is modified

Shaquille O’Neal owns about 40 cars, and most were modified so he could fit inside.

Just to name a few, Shaq bought a custom Mercedes van and two Cyberbeast Cybertrucks, including the world’s first carbon Tesla Cybertruck.

His once created the world’s first Lucid Air coupe precisely because he couldn’t fit in the sedan.

Then again Shaq has a net worth of around $500 million, so these expensive modifications are probably just small change to him.
