After buying seven airplanes for $100,000 without seeing them from Facebook Marketplace, this fanatic accepted a challenge to see if he could get all carriers back in the air again and sold on within a week.

Jimmy Webb is a plane fanatic, having previously restored hundreds of planes.

But this time, he’d be pushing himself to the limit as the mechanic-turned-YouTube personality blindly bought seven airplanes that hadn’t moved in years.

The catch? He needed them restored and sold within a week.

Facebook Marketplace can be a goldmine.

Not just for small furniture pieces but for vintage cars like this Lightning McQueen Mazda.

Jimmy Webb also nets a bunch of airplanes off the Meta site, having recently splashed six figures on what he dubbed the ‘deal of the year’.

In another upload to his channel, the creator threw another wedge at the market, this time buying seven unseen planes primed for restoration, including one WWI trainer.

Jimmy’s World

This WWI plane specifically proved to be in great condition, despite Jimmy never seeing the aircraft before.

Despite some typical wear and tear on the paintwork and a pair of flat tires, the plane simply needed a jump start and an oil change to get into a relatively good flying condition.

It did need a paperweight though with an incredibly light rear end.

But once it was up and running, this was the first one of seven planes that he had in the garage that he could successfully tick off.

Others were more tricky.

Did they complete the seven airplane restoration challenge?

The challenge rolled on with other planes such as a 77-year-old Luscombe, and a P-51 Mustang, with the goal being that they could also restore a Piper Cub J3, and make enough profit on the other six to keep it.

Jimmy’s World

The P-51 Mustang kit build – rather than the million-dollar real version – ended up being the final project after they tackled some of the older and less mechanical rebuilds first.

However, after five days, six of the seven airplanes were all up and running, with the one that Jimmy wanted to keep being the more elusive rebuild.

The YouTuber did find complete joy in his Elvis private jet remake, which proved to be one of the best restorations that we’ve ever seen.

Still, this Facebook Marketplace haul appears to be quite a winner.
