French automaker, Renault, is bringing back the beloved 5 Turbo from the 1980s and pushing it into the 21st century by making it all-electric and faster than ever.
The Renault 5 Turbo 3E will be pulling up in 2027 and will be the automaker’s most powerful and forward-thinking road car ever.
The new EV can easily go tire-to-tire with a Porsche 911 and give it a run for its money, as it is stuffed full of horsepower, reaching up to 533hbp.
Not only is this car ultra-sporty and speedy, but it’s full of amazing in-car technology like 50 in-car apps and advanced driver-assistance that can be activated or deactivated for different road surfaces.

Renault is breaching the electric frontier
The original Renault 5 Turbo is deeply beloved but, according to Gilles Vidal, VP of design at Renault, this new iteration is leveling up.
“We have preserved their exuberance and racing spirit while integrating modern technologies and optimized aerodynamics for the electric era,” he said of the electric car.
It looks like the Renault 5 Turbo 3E is going to be even better than the original.
Not only is it a good-looking and sporty car, but it looks like it’s going to be breaking records when it comes to speed and design, giving the Porsche 911 a run for its money.
Packed full of 533 horsepower, the test performance for the 5 Turbo 3E is going to have a track top speed of 168mph.
The EV will also come with very good drift capacity, with a dedicated drift mode and a rally-style vertical handbrake
The 5 Turbo is faster than ever
This brand-new EV is good for both the road and racetrack, it has advanced driver assistance that can be activated for the road or deactivated for the track.
This is one example of the awesome in-car technology coming with the EV, including 50 apps covering music, entertainment, and navigation.
The battery pack has a good range of 250 miles when driven on the road, but if the racecar is floored on the racetrack, Renault has admitted it will drain the battery in 15 to 20 minutes.
But honestly, who cares when the EV looks this good and goes this fast? Roll on 2027, it can’t come any quicker.
