The thrifty little find is apparently one of only 95 ever made.

But, despite it’s rarity, it sold for just $900.

The seller described it as a ‘making a great project’ for a classic car lover- but would you have taken the plunge?

The 442 gets its straight-forward name from the way it was built – quite simple really.

It was built from a four-barrel carburetor with a four-speed manual transmission and dual exhausts, according to volocars.com.

The unusual auto is known for it’s performance and progressed over decades, with the design switching up, but the name very much sticking.

But despite its unusual ranking and rare sightings, this owner sold theirs for less than the price of a new iPhone.

The car is a New York native, too.

The 1973 Oldsmobile 442 was on sale on Ebay in Ransomville, New York, United States.

And, although a clear fixer-upper project, it had some good stuff going for it.

The seller noted it was a ‘roller project’.

It also had clutch pedals, a four speed steering column and a 10 bolt posi rear differential.

The seller also noted it had a ‘V code’ and was supposedly only [one] of 95 cars built.’

It’s described as a ‘1973 Oldsmobile 442 original four speed big block roller car’ – which pretty much covers it.

The vehicle was firstly manufactured from 1964-1987, spread over four generations, but other generations were also brought back into fruition in the 1980s and 90s.

But despite its alleged rarity and being one of only 95 in the world, ever- it sold for a mere $900.

That low price is less than the cost of a new iPhone.

In fact, a new iPhone 16 Pro Max would cost you a whopping $1199.

The new piece of tech that can fit in your hand would cost you more than something your whole body can fit in, how wild is that?

But, at least it’s a real steal for somebody – even though the interior needs more than a lick of paint to look brand new.
