A Tesla Cybertruck owner has revealed what he loves about the EV, and what he’s less keen on, after driving it for a year.

The first deliveries of the Cybertruck happened in late 2023, meaning those early customers have now had a little over a year to get used to their truck.

Among them is Kyle from Out of Spec Reviews, who recently shared his thoughts and opinions on the EV.

So, what has that first year been like? And would Kyle be happy to recommend the Cybertruck?

Here’s what he loved about his Tesla Cybertruck

It’s been an interesting year for the Tesla Cybertruck.

In 2024, Tesla predicted that the Cybertruck could sell as many as 250,000 vehicles a year.

However, in its first full year of sales, it only sold around 40,000 units.

And one of those trucks ended up with Kyle, from the Out of Spec Reviews YouTube channel, who has had his for a year.

In a recent video, Kyle revealed what he loves and what he hates about the Cybertruck after spending 12 months – and traveling 27,000 miles – with it.

He kicks off the video by saying that he ‘genuinely loves’ the  ‘controversial vehicle’, pointing out its impressive horsepower and unique looks.

Kyle admits that the EV’s design can be polarizing, but that he personally likes how it looks and the fact that it acts as a conversation starter.

And his praise didn’t end there.

“I think it’s great that it finally has FSD [full self-driving] now, which makes it one of the most daily drivable electric trucks on the market,” he said.

“Overall, my impression is just very high bar. Absolutely love the truck.”

And here’s what he was less impressed with

Now, if you read the above and thought ‘I sense a ‘but’ coming’, then you’re absolutely right.

After revealing all he loves about this Cybertruck, Kyle went on to share what he didn’t like about it.

“I love the truck, however, that is also offset by reliability problems,” he said.

“This truck has been into service multiple times throughout its ownership.

“The battery pack absolutely sucks on this truck, it is way too small in terms of capacity  – 123 kilowatt hours, brand new.

“It takes too long to charge, the charging performance absolutely sucks on the truck.”

Kyle went on to note the ‘brutal’ price depreciation on the truck as well as the fact the FSD needed ‘some improvements’.

Nonetheless, after weighing up the pros and cons, Kyle said he’d always have a ‘soft spot’ for the Cybertruck and was ‘really glad’ he got one.
