After being laid off from her job in the marketing industry, Sydney Charlet had a lightbulb moment and decided to start a side hustle where New York car owners pay her to sit in their cars.
But, the most genius aspect? It will always cost less than a $65 ticket.
“It’s kind of like I’m babysitting, but I’m babysitting cars,” she said in an interview with PIX11 News.
Her clients are able to text her business phone number with details, including the car’s coordinates and their location. She can then sit in their cars to avoid tickets or even move the vehicle if needed.
She also documents her clever business move on TikTok, and now she has reportedly received interest from other people looking to join her.
It’s all thanks to her marketing brain and background, and a whole heap of common sense, that her side hustle is hitting the headlines and proving to be popular amongst NYC drivers.

After sharing the idea on TikTok, Sydney has caught the attention of gearheads worldwide.
