Mazda appears to have struck gold with its brand-new SUV – the Mazda EZ-60.
The Japanese giant has unveiled its latest full-EV offering for the global market.
It is the first fully electric vehicle to come from the Chinese collaboration between Changan and Mazda.
And it has been so successful that it has already secured more than 30,000 pre-orders in China.

The Mazda EZ-60 could be huge for the Japanese manufacturer
Mazda is one of the world’s biggest car manufacturers.
The Japanese marque is expected to sell over 1.3 million vehicles globally in 2025.
And one of those models has already proven to be extremely popular and successful.
In the past few months, Mazda has unveiled the by-product of a unique collaboration.
Mazda has been partnering with Chinese automaker Changan to produce cars for the Chinese market.
And April 23rd saw the two brands unveil the latest result – and it is proving extremely popular.
Changan Mazda threw the covers off its newest offering – the EZ-60.
Given its status as the first fully-electric SUV from the project, the EZ-60 is a big deal.
In fact, the EZ-60 forms the cornerstone of Mazda’s strategic vision for the market.
The popularity of the upcoming EZ-60 has taken the car industry by complete surprise.
In the first 24 hours following the announcement, Mazda announced that it had reached 10,000 pre-orders.
During May, the number officially doubled – reaching over the 20,000 figure for pre-orders.
Popularity is fascinating – but so is the target market
Two days ago, Mazda took to social media to make a big update announcement.
Taking to social media platform Weibo, Mazda announced that EZ-60 pre-orders had exceeded the 30,000 mark.
The demographic of pre-orders is another piece of information that is very telling.
According to Mazda, 66 percent of pre-orders fall within the 25-39 year-old age range.
The company described it as being ‘the light luxury choice for young people.’
Changan Mazda expects to officially launch the EZ-60 in September of this year.
The EZ-60 will be sold in other markets, and it will be rebadged as part of the process.
It will officially be known as the Mazda CX-6e in Europe.
