There is nothing more iconic than an Italian sports car, which is why the debut of the Automobili Mignatta Rina is a big deal.

If you just did a double take when reading the name, you’re not crazy.

Automobili Mignatta is indeed a humble startup, trying to build a sports car to compete with the likes of Maserati and Lamborghini.

The new two-seater roadster draws inspiration from the golden era of Italian automotive design, but adds a modern twist.

The carmaker’s first car was recently unveiled in May 2025, and it is a love letter to vintage Italian speedsters.

Its sleek, carbon fiber bodywork features sculpted fenders, oval headlights, and a minimalist barchetta style.

Automobili Mignatta

In fact, it’s so minimalist that you won’t find a roof or a windshield.

Inspired by the likes of the Maserati 450S, the Rina exudes the elegance and aggression of classic V8 roadsters.

Under the hood lies a 5.0 liter naturally aspirated V8 engine, tuned by Italtecnica Engineering.

While exact power figures haven’t been disclosed, the Rina’s lightweight carbon monocoque chassis tips the scales at just 1,000kg.

This promises an exhilarating power-to-weight ratio, which is great for speed.

Power is channeled through a six-speed manual transmission, sending torque to the rear wheels via a limited-slip differential.

Inside, the Rina offers an analog experience reminiscent of classic roadsters.

The cabin features a minimalist layout with analog gauges, a centrally mounted speedometer, and a tachometer behind the wheel.

True to its retro roots, don’t expect Apple CarPlay, as the Rina boasts zero digital screens.

The interior is adorned with rich brown leather, aluminum trim, and exposed carbon fiber, creating an atmosphere of refined simplicity.

Automobili Mignatta

Automobili Mignatta plans to produce just 30 units of the Rina annually, in order to preserve its exclusivity.

With a starting price of about $290,000, this Italian sports car is a collector’s dream for enthusiasts seeking a blend of classic design and modern performance.
