Bugatti CEO Mate Rimac has just released a VERY exciting video.

In a brief clip uploaded to social media, Rimac posted video from a shakedown test for the highly anticipated Bugatti Tourbillon.

The Tourbillon, which is set to serve as the successor to the legendary Bugatti Chiron supercar, was seen sporting some snazzy camouflage during the test.

And boy, is the sound something from the motoring heavens.

Bugatti Tourbillon is a BEAST

The new Tourbillon is set to serve as the follow-up to the truly epic Chiron.

At its heart is a truly incredible engine; a Cosworth-developed, 8.3 litre, V16 hybrid engine.

Oh, but the fun doesn’t stop there, either.

This V16 behemoth makes 986HP on its own, but it’s also flanked by not one, not even two, but THREE electric motors (two in the front and one in the back).

The total sum of this hybrid power? 1,775HP. Wow.

The three electric motors will make 789bhp by themselves, culminating in nearly 2,000HP. Talk about a worthy Chiron successor…

New Tourbillon really excites CEO

It’s fair to say that all of this has left Bugatti’s CEO more than a little excited.

In the above video, Bugatti CEO Mate Rimac takes his new prototype out for a display of speed and power.

In the video, Rimac can be heard mentioning that the Tourbillon is in ICE mode only – that is, without the electric motors active.

Following that, Rimac puts his foot down and floors the car to the end of the track.

The noise is as epic and transcending as you would imagine.

There aren’t any details currently on when the Tourbillon is expected to be released and put into production, but some of the numbers from the official Bugatti website are truly frightening.

For example: 0-60 seconds? two seconds. Top speed? 276mph. Maximum revs? The Tourbillon red-lines at 9000rpm.

Mate Rimac said on his post that the Tourbillon ‘will be one for the history books.’

Based on what we’ve seen so far, he may very well be right.
