YouTuber Mat Armstrong took a massive gamble on a super-rare wrecked Lamborghini SVJ Roadster, of which only 800 exist.
The content creator secured the Aventador SVJ Roadster from a salvage auction, and to say this was in bad shape would be an understatement.
But that meant he could get it at a discounted price and make it his own.
The question remained – could this car be saved, or was it beyond hope?

Taking on a Lamborghini Aventador SVJ Roadster
No airbags had been deployed in the supercar, which would take many people by surprise.
The front of the car was a crumpled mess, as it’d clearly taken the brunt of the crash head-on.
But there’s definitely been cars in worse shape than this – there was still potential here.
There was a whole host of issues – improperly reassembled parts, missing sensors, and unconnected wiring.
Armstrong got to work on getting things up to scratch, adding oil and coolant, and tackling the weak battery.
The engine gave him some trouble, as it wouldn’t crank even when he tried to apply direct power through a bypass cable.
And the car was stuck in gear.
After consulting a Lamborghini specialist, Armstrong decided to implement a neutral override and woke it up.
By the end of the video, he had gotten the car running and took it for a very cautious first drive.
“What a machine! A proper Lamborghini!” Armstrong gushed.
He opted to give the Lamborghini SVJ a name and settled on Suzanne.
Suzanne, the SVJ, wasn’t a finished car yet, but she was well on her way.

Armstrong has taken on a lot of different cars in his time on YouTube.
There was the totaled Porsche GT3 RS that he rebuilt to race against other supercars.
He really challenged himself with an Aston Martin DBX that he had bought dirt cheap because it had been submerged underwater.
But it’s not all about the sense of accomplishment – he once spent six months rebuilding a wrecked Ferrari to gift it to his dad.
