Mario Balotelli got rid of the vast majority of his cars after apparently falling out of love with his collection, mostly bought in the UK, which was worth well over $1 million at some point.

The 34-year-old soccer player made the news on several occasions in the past, usually after a car crash or some other form of drama.

But, on this occasion, he made the news for a slightly less dramatic reason.

There’s probably a practical reason behind this decision, though.

The likely reason Mario Balotelli is selling his cars

Mario Balotelli became every UK tabloid’s dream in the early 2010s when he joined Manchester City in the English Premier League.

Tabloid newspapers loved him because, put simply, he gave them so much to write about.

Balotelli, was on a whopping $150,000 per week at just 20 years of age in the Premier League. So he spent his years in the UK buying, and as often as not crashing, several high-end cars.

Balotelli has had his car impounded nearly 30 times and was involved in a number of accidents during his time in the UK.

But that’s behind him now, and the soccer star is now busy getting rid of his cars.

The 34-year-old Italian player recently sold his Audi RSQ8, which he crashed, his Audi Q8, which he also crashed, a Nissan GT-R Nismo, and a Bentley Continental GT, pictured below.

Apart from anything else, there’s definitely a practical reason behind this decision.

The thing is, Balotelli bought most of his cars in the UK. And this means that many of his cars were designed for left-hand traffic.

That’s kind of inconvenient for him, considering he hasn’t played in the UK in nearly 10 years, and he’s very unlikely to go back.

Is the Saudi League the new Premier League?

In the past, the English Premier League used to be the best in the world when it came to salaries.

That’s no longer the case, as the checks with the most zeros are now being written in the Saudi League.

Cristiano Ronaldo became the highest-paid athlete in the world after joining Al-Nassr for a reported $200 million – and free cars worth $200k – per year.

His former teammate at Real Madrid, Karim Benzema, is on $100 million per year at Al-Ittihad, also in the Saudi League.

Other Saudi clubs were reportedly ready to spend $1 billion in total to bring Mbappe to the Saudi League.

The plan failed as Mbappe eventually decided to join Real Madrid, but we’re sure they’ll try again in the future.
