Pagani is, without question, one of the world’s premier hypercar brands.

The company founded by Horacio Pagani is responsible for icons such as the Zonda and Huayra.

Recently, one TikTok user decided to pay pilgrimage to Pagani’s museum.

And the first car that he saw left him absolutely speechless.

Horacio chases an Italian dream

Pagani Automobili is a company with a truly fascinating origin story.

In 1982, a young man from Argentina moved to Bologna, Italy in search of his dream.

From an early age, Horacio Pagani was obsessed with cars and engineering.

The Argentinian was even hired by Renault to improve one of their racing cars.

His incredible work got him noticed by Italian racing royalty, Lamborghini.

Having met chief technical director Giulio Alfieri, Pagani was offered a job by Lamborghini.

So, in 1982, the 27 year-old moved to Italy with his wife to pursue his dream.

Initially, he started out with basic jobs such as sweeping floors – however, he soon worked his way up.

Horacio would become Lamborghini’s chief engineer, and was responsible for the Countach concept.

However, he left Lamborghini when they refused to consider using carbon to craft parts.

Pagani turns pain into power

In 1992, Horacio established the company that still bears his name.

Pagani Automobili started life in Modena, Italy – where it remains.

The company’s maiden offering was the incredible Zonda – which took seven years to build.

Making its debut at the Geneva Motor Show in 1999, the Zonda wowed everyone who saw it.

The Zonda was powered by a 6.0-liter M120 V12 engine provided by Mercedes-Benz and tuned by AMG.

2011 saw the release of the Huayra, the spiritual successor to the Zonda.

Only 100 units of the 6.0-liter, twin-turbo V12 monster were built, each costing over $1,000,000.

The Zonda and Huayra are widely considered as two of the greatest supercars ever built.

In particular, praise has been given for the incredible engine and performance.

TikTok user takes tour of museum

TikTok user a13bz recently visited the Pagani museum in Modena, Italy.

He starts the video by explaining that he spent $22 to get into the museum.

However, the video makes it clear that the price was very much worth it.

The first car he sees is an original Zonda, which, he says, ‘is worth at least five million.’

In a humorous touch, the TikTok user says the Zonda ‘reminds him of a Transformer.’

That’s because all of the doors are open, as well as the rear engine bay.

The user explained that the museum truly had something for everyone.

Be warned, though – if you’re planning on buying merchandise, it’s extremely expensive.

If you’ll excuse us, we’re going to go and plan our trip to Modena. See you there!
