This YouTuber did what every Bugatti owner is scared to do – race his Veyron on a wet track.

Tyler Hoover, the host of Hoovies Garage, wanted to compare his Veyron to a Toyota Prius.

He put the car to the test on a track in Oklahoma, with his buddy Elliot driving the Prius.

With the Veyron having 1,000hp and the Prius on a meager 110hp, the speed difference was clear – but speed wasn’t the name of the game here.

How does the Bugatti Veyron compare to the Toyota Prius?

The first test was on fuel efficiency, which might not sound like the most nail biting race ever.

But let’s face it, we all want to be saving money when it comes to fueling our cars.

The two cars raced around the track for 10 laps in a bid to see which car went through the most fuel.

A Maybach 62 was also in on the fun.

In the end, the Veyron came up short as it consumed two gallons compared to the Prius’ 1.

The Maybach came out as the biggest gas guzzler with 2.8 gallons.

This is hardly the most unusual challenge involving a car and fuel – one guy put jet fuel in his Ford Galaxie to see if it would still run.

But there were still more tests giving the Veyron a shot at redemption.

The Wet Track Race saw it go up against a Porsche 930 Turbo, a Camaro ZL1 and Ford GT.

Fortunately, things were off to a good start for the Bugatti.

Hoover remarked: “Woah, [I] just flew ahead of them!

“Urgh, I just can’t slow down! It’s so wet!”

One tense race later and Hoover’s Bugatti reigned supreme over the other competitors.

It’s all-wheel drive gave it an advantage, despite the nerve wracking turns on the slippery track.

What other challenges were the cars put into?

On the third challenge, the cars were put up for a braking test.

Each vehicle had to reach 100mph before getting back down to zero.

Up for consideration against the Veyron was the Ford GT, Camaro ZL1, Porsche 930 Turbo, Maybach 62 and the trusty Prius from the first challenge.

Riding high on his success in the second challenge, Hoover was feeling pretty confident about his chances.

But would this be his pride before the fall?

Hoover was up first and performed well in the Veyron, whilst the GT took a long time to slow down.

In fact, Hoover estimated that the GT stopped a football field length ahead of his car.

But how did the others do?

The ZL1 didn’t even make it to 100 and upon braking, ended up being a dot in the distance.

Hoover remarked: “If that’s how a modern Camaro ZL1 does, I don’t have much faith for [the Porsche].”

Ironically, that was the car that took everyone by surprise, despite its age.

It being lightweight gave it an edge.

But ultimately, it was the Bugatti who came out on top.

All in all, Hoover was pleased with its performance out on the track.

This isn’t the first time he’s gone in depth on his car, as he’s previously done a full breakdown on the cost of repairs.
