This man ran a unique experience on a Ford Focus with no oil to see how long it would last, and he was in for a surprise.

The Ford Focus is often dubbed a reliable car and is a popular choice of daily driver, but this guy decided to figure out what happens when a key running component is missing.

To make it fair, he tested the Ford Focus against a Honda Civic and a Peugeot 206.

And, once the oil and coolant were drained from the vehicles, the Ford lasted a surprising amount of time against the other cars in question.

The humble Ford Focus is a daily driver used by people all over the globe to get from A to B.

Like any other vehicle, it needs a variety of different elements to run smoothly, including an engine filled with oil.

But what happens when that oil is completely drained? Well, this man put a Ford Focus through its paces with not a drop of oil in the engine, and the results were interesting, to say the least.

Over on the carwow YouTube channel, they also drained the oil out of a Honda Civic, and a Peugeot 206.

Once the oil and coolant were drained from every car, big rocks were put on the accelerator pedals, and it was a race against the clock to see which car conked out first.

“The Focus does not sound good,” the YouTuber explained as the engines began to roar in the three vehicles.

But, it wasn’t good news for Ford as the Ford Focus with no oil died at the 20-second time mark.

The Peugeot 206 was the next car to give up the losing battle, with the auto dying less than 30 seconds later, at the 47-second time mark.

The Honda, though, quite literally outlived everyone’s expectations and continued to roar and even be driven until the six-minute mark. Talk about powerful engineering.

A car needs oil to run perfectly – but it can come at a cost

Every gas car, no matter what style, spec, or brand, needs oil in its engine to perform as it should.

But, as many gearheads know, keeping cars in perfect working order sometimes doesn’t come cheap.

For example, this Bugatti Veyron owner revealed just how much an oil change costs on the hypercar – and at almost $25,000, it could be cheaper to buy a new car altogether.

But hey, at least you know that if anything did go wrong with the oil in your car, a Honda Civic would be the car that would last, but a Ford Focus could only last less than half a minute.
