A YouTuber came across a rare deal on an Audi RS7 C8 V8 twin-turbo, listed for £40,000 – that was far below its typical market value of £60,000 to £65,000.

The car only had 33,000 miles on the odometer, raising questions about why the price was so low.

Curious, he decided to buy it from BCA as a trade sale.

Despite its seemingly good condition, the RS7 was listed as a non-runner with an engine overheating issue, leading to suspicion about what might be wrong with the car.

Upon closer inspection, it became clear that the low price was tied to serious problems.

The RS7’s cooling system was incomplete, with a missing cooling bottle suggesting a potential coolant issue.

Further, when he attempted to start the car, a misfire and thick smoke from the exhaust were evident.

Using diagnostic tools, the YouTuber, who goes by the name, Saving Salvage uncovered multiple faults pointing to misfire and performance-related problems.

Saving Salvage

Oil was visible in the engine bay, hinting at deeper internal issues, likely linked to turbo seals or the PCV valve.

Though the turbochargers appeared intact, oil leaks from the PCV valve became the main culprit.

A compression test revealed water leaks in Cylinder 7, which was causing the engine to burn coolant and emit heavy smoke.

This pointed to a major engine failure, especially concerning a 2020 Audi RS7 with a low mileage of 33,000 miles.

Saving Salvage

It was time to remove the engine now, which was challenging given the car’s complex design, however, it was removed successfully.

Upon further inspection, water contamination in the oil pointed to a suspected head gasket failure.

The Audi RS7 exposed the risks of buying performance cars at reduced prices, similar to the Mercedes-Benz hiding a big secret from the buyer.
