How often is it that you sell your dream car only to buy it back again years later?

It’s pretty unlikely, but that’s exactly what Tavarish did after selling his beloved Mitsubishi 3000GT VR4.

The car, which was once the pride and joy of his garage, had to be sold when he moved to Florida.

But life has a funny way of bringing things full circle and five years later he stumbled across it abandoned and for sale.

The poor 3000GT VR4 showed signs of neglect when its former owner rediscovered it.

When Tavarish saw it in such bad shape, he knew he had to get his hands on the 3000GT VR4 again.

This story of rediscovery is similar to the man who sold his Corvette Stingray and then bought it again 40 years later, proving that some connections are just too strong to break.

Tavarish even covered this incredible reunion on his YouTube channel.

With only 287 units ever made, Tavarish referred to his beloved Mitsubishi as the ‘poor man’s GTR’.

Tavarish

Back in 1999, when he first bought the Mitsubishi 3000GT VR4, it needed a lot of work, but it was still the nicest car he owned.

After an extensive restoration effort, the car was brought to its prime condition.

The car wasn’t in a good shape

After years of neglect, the poor 3000GT VR4 was looking rough.

Although it had only added 5,000 extra miles, the car had passed through four different owners.

The tires were mismatched, the bumper was damaged, and the headlights were badly clouded.

Tavarish

But it wasn’t anything for Tavarish, who once rebuilt a $2 million McLaren P1, couldn’t handle.

He vowed to restore the old Mitsubishi and get it back to working condition, so watch this space.
