After an emotional delivery of a $1.6 million Porsche 918, the owner joined a convoy to Goodwood, enjoying his first moments with the hybrid hypercar on public roads.
The car had arrived as a surprise, coordinated by his wife and delivered directly to their home.
His reaction was captured on video the moment he saw the car in his driveway for the first time.
Rather than letting it sit still, he took it out immediately and filmed the results.

Porsche 918 delivery sparks emotional reaction
In a video posted by Tomi Auto and kamilleofficial on YouTube, the surprise delivery and journey to Goodwood are documented in full.
Camille begins by revealing the plan: Tomi had no idea the car was arriving that day. ‘He is literally like a hawk and wants to know everything about everything,’ she says.
Just before the reveal, she calls him downstairs under the pretense of showing him something.
When he walks into the garage and sees the car, he freezes. ‘Oh my god,’ he says. ‘It’s here, guys. Oh my god.’
He circles it in silence before running and screaming, ‘This is so much. I can’t believe we’ve done it.’
Camille later adds, ‘Judging by his reaction, this is actually genuine emotion. He was crying. I made him cry.’
She explains how the car was rushed through servicing while they were away in Dubai, so the surprise would work.
‘We’ve worked so hard for this,’ she says. ‘It’s just so nice seeing this whole thing come full circle.’
The Porsche 918 is fitted with the Weissach Package and magnesium wheels.
Tomi inspects the details but doesn’t say much.
Camille leaves him alone with the car, and when she returns, he’s still standing there. ‘I went to go make content. I couldn’t. I just stood there looking at it.’
Driving, using, and living with the hybrid hypercar
The next day, Tomi drove the hybrid hypercar to Goodwood, joining a convoy of supercars along the way. He didn’t hold back.
The car was used as intended, weaving through city traffic, joining motorways, and stopping at service stations to reset after high-speed runs.
Adjusting to a left-hand-drive car on UK roads took a moment. ‘You have to really look carefully. I can’t believe I’m on this side of the road.’
The hybrid system handled daily use without issue. Camille said it felt smoother than expected, and Tomi agreed.
‘Bro, this car,’ he said after pulling off the motorway. ‘It feels like it was made today.’
While their model is from 2017, he pointed out that the design dates back to 2014.
‘This is better than the Aventador. Whoever designed this car at Porsche… they know what they’re doing.’
Back at Goodwood, Tomi parked beside another Porsche 918.
It was the car he almost bought instead. His had fewer miles and the spec he preferred. ‘I’m glad we waited for this,’ he said.
The car wasn’t trailered or staged. It was driven the entire weekend, roof off, luggage in the frunk, and no special hybrid hypercar treatment.
Tomi only mentioned the wheels as a concern, planning to change them out to avoid damaging the lightweight magnesium set.
By the end of the weekend, the plates were on, the car was home, and the moment had settled in.
Camille summed it up best: ‘It’s just so nice seeing this whole thing come full circle.’
