The American classic was left dumped in a ditch not far from where YouTuber Ryan of IowaClassicCars, its savior, lived.

Alongside the Chrysler were an early 1950s Buick and three 1957 Chevrolet Tri-Fives, all in various states of disrepair.

Despite the poor condition of the cars, this automotive fan felt the Chrysler deserved saving and thus he pulled it out of the ravine to see what he could do with it.

The Chrysler had been in the ditch for some time

As the condition of the three cars shows us, they had clearly been dumped in the ditch for a long time.

As explained in the video, the cars were found on a property by someone who had recently purchased it.

He then called YouTuber Ryan to come and check the cars out and see what could be done with them.

Closer inspection revealed that the Chevrolets and the Buick were beyond saving, but the Chrysler looked like it could be.

That then led to the video of Ryan and his team pulling the classic car from the ditch.

The video shows that although it’s in better condition than the others, it’s still in rough shape.

The New Yorker will need serious restoration work

Upon pulling the car from the ditch, Ryan could get a better view of what work was required.

For example, the Mopar is missing an engine.

The plan is to give it a 392ci 6.4-liter Hemi V8, as well as return its push-button automatic transmission.

The 1958 model year was the final one for 392 Hemi-powered Chrysler New Yorkers.

The 413 ci 6.8-liter Wedge V8 replaced them in 1959.

It isn’t the most valuable of Chryslers, however, but it is quite a rarity.

In 1958, Chrysler sold 17,411 New Yorkers, but just 3,205 of those were two-door hardtops like this one.

That makes the rescue of the car make more sense.

If Ryan can restore it, it’ll be fascinating to see just what he does with the car and how it looks when the project is complete.
