A Bentley Continental GT and ‘cheap’ don’t often go together unless it’s in a pretty bad shape — which this was, and the future of this $9,000 luxury car isn’t all too promising.

Someone bought this flood-totaled Bentley for a bargain, thinking, ‘How bad could it be?’

It turns out that it was pretty beat up, and there’s a good reason why nobody else wanted it.

Granted, you can sometimes find a hidden gem of a car that’s listed as broken, but it’s all a gamble in the end.

Man bought totaled Bentley Continental GT for cheap

YouTuber Samcrac, who happens to be a car enthusiast and a specialist when it comes to used cars, bought this Continental GT.

“I don’t see why there’d be any big issue in getting this car to run,” he said in a video.

Before we get into why this was a disaster, it’s important to note that Samcrac knew what he was getting into.

‘Deals’ like these are a complete gamble in a 50-50 situation.

Since he has considerable experience finding treasures in totaled cars, it was a worthy gamble.

The YouTuber once bought a dead Porsche SUV for $700 and fixed it in minutes.

There was also a supercharged Camaro ZL1 that he got working in just three minutes.

As he started inspecting the Bentley after getting it delivered, things actually seemed hopeful.

However, that hope was short-lived because he couldn’t find out why it was in such bad shape as time went on.

The car wouldn’t start despite his best efforts.

It never started because of certain issues

He first checked all the fuses because that’s ideally the first place to look for trouble in a car that has been through flood damage.

The fuses were all intact, so he further moved to make sure both batteries inside this Bentley Continental GT were functional.

Unfortunately, even that didn’t help.

After spending hours digging for information online, he found that there were some hidden fuse boxes beneath the driver’s seat.

When he got access to that area, what he found out was truly heartbreaking.

Although the water had done some damage there, the major problem was that someone had fiddled with the electronics before he got the car.

Some users in the YouTube video’s comments suggested the Bentley might have been dead even before the flood did its damage.

That could be true, but this could have been why nobody else wanted it.
