This man built an engine entirely from parts bought on Temu and somehow managed to get it to run.

The bargain site has a variety of uses, but this dude decided to take a risk and order car parts from it.

He had hopefully installed the parts that he ordered, praying that his gamble would pay off.

It’s safe to say he was more than happy with the outcome.

Temu is a budget site that has often been used to rebuild cars

Many gearheads know that certain car parts can sting their bank accounts and savings, so some have found a cheaper alternative.

In fact, one guy installed a Chinese body kit from Temu on his McLaren 650S, alongside another group of men that converted their McLaren 650S into a $518,000 675LT with parts from the same vendor.

This guy took it one step further and built a whole engine from parts bought on the Chinese platform.

YouTuber Thatkswappedek shared the process of building an engine out of the budget parts

First, he purchased an engine to work on

To keep the costs down, he turned to Facebook Marketplace to get himself a $500 engine block before using Temu to fix it up.

Then, they got to work installing pieces that they’d bought, including removing the camshaft and replacing it with the Temu-bought alternative, using gaskets and a timing chain to make the magic happen.

Other pieces that he purchased off the budget site included rockers, an oil pressure sensor, lifter trays, headers, a timing kit, and an oil pump.

After carefully installing the parts, there was one big test left

But, when all was said and done, would the car run?

“Hopefully it doesn’t blow up”, said the YouTuber as he went to test it out

Unexpectedly, after carrying out the transformation with the cheaper parts, the engine was in good shape.

It started up and ran smoothly, which – with around $700 invested in the engine – must have been a relief.

“The real question is how long is it going to for?

“But so far, it looks good.”

“There is nothing wrong with this… how is it possible I built this thing for $700,” he questioned.

After successfully building the engine from the Temu parts, the next thing that needed to be done was to test it in an actual car – and the YouTuber ended the video saying that would happen soon.

We look forward to seeing the results of that next test.

For now though, you can catch all the action below:
