It’s not the first time the two brands have worked together, having previously collaborated on a surfboard collection that paid homage to the Porsche colors of the 1960s.

This time around, the marque has chosen to base the board around a specific car: the 1972 Porsche 911 Carrera RS 2.7.

Alongside the Porsche surfboard, the two companies have launched loads of other merch, including sweatshirts, beach towels, and a model car.

Porsche has more legendary and iconic cars than you can shake a stick at, from the 944 released back in the 1980s, to the super exclusive Porsche Carrera GT.

But even amongst such highly coveted cars, the 1972 911 Carrera RS 2.7 stands out.

The car was introduced with a strictly limited run of just 72 units, and these days you’d need to part with a lot of cash to get your hands on one.

However, the marque may have just launched the next best thing with this surfboard that is inspired by the legendary vehicle.

The Porsche surfboard stands at 6 feet (1.8 meters) and is a swallowtail, made from polyurethane foam wrapped in a fiberglass shell with a couple of layers of cloth on the deck and bottom.

Its been designed to put surfers in mind of the original car and has been finished in Grand Prix White with a choice of Blue, Red, or Green racing accents – the same colorways you’d have seen on the 1972 911 Carrera RS 2.7.

The boards cost $3,000 and each one is made to order.

To keep the boards as exclusive as the 1972 911 Carrera RS 2.7 just 72 will be made.

Alongside the Porsche surfboard, the collection includes t-shirts, boardshorts, baseball caps, and a sticker set.

Prices start af $15 for the sticker set or a patch, while a t-shirt will set you back $75, and the sweatshirt is priced at $155.

“The Carrera RS 2.7 is one of the most celebrated 911s of all time,” said Karsten von Engeln, President and CEO of Porsche Design of America.

“This partnership captures its spirit perfectly.”
