The Tesla owner and Uber driver often films his Uber rides so he can post videos on social media, and his passengers always ask why he owns six Teslas.

His explanation is interesting, and it’ll certainly make Elon Musk happy.

Especially because he wants to buy more.

Why this Las Vegas Uber driver keeps buying Teslas

Roberto Aguilar, who goes by Tesla Rob on social media, is a Las Vegas Uber driver who owns six Tesla vehicles.

And he’s planning to buy more.

In his view, this is a great way to generate passive income.

According to Rob, sooner or later, you’ll be able to use your Teslas as driverless Ubers, which is why he wants to buy more.

That hasn’t happened yet so, in the meantime, Rob is renting out his Teslas to other Uber drivers.

So, in a way, he’s already technically generating passive income with his electric cars.

Elon Musk will certainly love hearing this

Elon Musk would certainly be happy to hear that, not just because Rob bought six of his cars, but because Musk himself said the idea was to let people use Teslas to generate passive income with FSD.

FSD is now an option for every Tesla vehicle, including the Cybertruck.

Unsupervised FSD, basically Tesla’s answer to Waymo, is currently available in Texas but will soon expand to two more states.

The tech behind is making quick progress and, according to Musk, driverless cars – and therefore driverless Ubers – will become the norm.

The idea is that you can sit back and let your autonomous Tesla go pick people up and drop them off, thus generating income for the Tesla owner – and the maker – in the process.
