As you might expect, King Charles leads quite a lavish life.
His private jet is the Voyager, which was given a $12 million paint job back in 2020.
The British royal family also has an impressive array of vehicles at their disposal, including two custom-made Bentleys.
It’s not particularly unusual for this to be the case.
World leaders make use of some magnificent cars, from the President of the United States to the Sultan of Brunei.
For King Charles, his latest acquisition is more on the eco-friendly side.
It’s no secret that he is concerned about the state of the environment.
At the age of 21, the then-Prince of Wales warned about the dangers of plastic pollution.
In the decades since, he has worked on issues related to sustainability and climate change.
So it was only fitting that he’d make the transition to electric cars at some point.
Joining his fleet is a $215,000 Lotus Eletre.
The 900 model chosen by the King is powered by a 900HP electric motor and can drive 319 miles on a single charge.
While this car would look great out on a Royal Tour, it is reportedly going to be used at one of his country estates.
But believe it or not, this isn’t the first time that the Royal Family has made use of an EV.
Back in 2018, Jaguar supplied an I-Pace model to them, which was auctioned off a year later.
A lot of this remains speculative to a certain degree, as Buckingham Palace has a policy of declining to comment on the King’s automobile collection.
But several big brands have featured in reports about his collection over the years.
He’s been linked to a 1987 Aston Martin V8 Vantage Volante and an Aston Martin DB6 MkII Volante.
The former was a gift from the King of Bahrain and was auctioned off for charity in 1995.
The latter was gifted to him by his mother, Queen Elizabeth II, on his 21st birthday.
It would later be converted to run on bioethanol, which King Charles joked was a fuel of ‘wine and cheese’.
That sounds more like a French car than a British one, in our humble opinion.
