Jason Kelce let a group of teenagers EV swap his 1986 Chevy K10 truck

Jason Kelce’s 1986 Chevy K10 truck, a classic vehicle that often gave him trouble, has been transformed into an electric vehicle.

The goal was to give the classic truck a modern twist and ultimately get it running to a standard that no longer gave him a headache.

Kelce didn’t use professionals either.

He got a bunch of highschool kids to do the job instead.

Kelce, who documented the transformation on his new YouTube channel, said he was aware the project was controversial.

“I know that a lot of people out there are going to think this is a sin, converting an old square body Chevy into electric and taking it off the gas,” he said.

“But I don’t know, I think it’s pretty cool.”

Kelce said it was important to him to retain the truck’s classic appearance, but he was happy for it to be totally overhauled under the hood.

So, what did this involve?

The high school kids installed a Tesla Model S drivetrain and a 90 kWh battery while maintaining the vintage charm of the truck’s exterior.

The conversion preserved the truck’s four-wheel drive and analog gauges, blending new with the old.

With the electric conversion, the updated Chevy K10 now had a 200-mile range, making it both a practical and functional vehicle.

The video’s now been watched a total of 316,000 times since it was uploaded just seven days ago.

The project was run by Operation Breakthrough, a nonprofit organization that enlisted high school students to convert the truck.

Jason Kelce said he learned about Operation Breakthrough and their EV conversion program through his brother, Travis Kelce.
